Bring a friend and pop down to our fun and friendly play-along sessions, they are for ukulele hero’s of all levels – from beginner to pop star!!

There will be a couple of ukuleles to use for the ‘ukulele curious’ and some extra songbooks to use on the day.

Our location and meeting day has changed.

After years in the wonderful o’ceallaighs Irish Pub, we are moving to a bigger place:

Our new meetings will be held on Sundays (every other week) from 2:30pm to 4:30pm

Our new meeting place will be the CafeMON (Bieslookstraat 23,Groningen)

There is free parking and a bus stop within walking distance.

There is lots of room and shiny new toilets – and a bar !!

What more could we want – so come on down and uke it up with the GUS (it’s been too long), polish your Ukes and find your GUS books and come on down to the funkiest uke club around

Whilst we are waiting to see how the corona crisis plays out and start our meetings again in a safe and happy environment, let’s not forget to

‘Uke up our Lives’

Playing at home and alone can leave us without inspiration and make us forget what a wonderful, fun and people friendly instrument and community the ukulele world is.

But don’t forget, amongst the sharks and commercial moneymakers targeting our community there are plenty of non-commercial groups (like ourselves) out there, offering resources and support to the ukulele world.

Hey Ho – Let’s Go

The next ‘fun in the sun’ GUS meeting is going to be in the Bandstand at the Noorderplantzoen in Groningen on sunday the 26th of september.

We’ll be starting at 2pm – our ukes unpacked n’ tuned, with smiles on our faces and love in our hearts, playing them there songs in that good ole ukulele way.

We will be keeping a 2 meter spacing, but we’ll be playing them ukes and singing our hearts out, spreading ukulele love and happiness.

Well folks, it’s been a while, but it seems we are getting past that there corona crisis and it’s time to grab those ukes, give ’em a polish and a tune, grab them there GUS books, pop in the shower and practice your singing,

It’ s going to be held outdoors in the sunny and beautiful rose garden in the Pioenpark (Pioenstraat, 9713RR), the same location as our outdoor meetings in the calmer moments of 2020.

We will be keeping our 1 meter 50 spacing, but we’ll be playing them ukes and singing our hearts out, spreading ukulele love and happiness.
